Upcoming performance in 2006
DESCENT
This all-day event gathers an international cast at Sage to celebrate the use and abuse of noise, drones and feedback in music. The astounding (and deafening!) line-upincludes:
an exclusive appearance by Russell Haswell/Kjetil Manheim/Lasse Marhaug, a trio renowned individually and coming together to create an awesome free noise rock tirade; Japanese noise legend and Zeni Geva mainman K K Null; Austrian soundscapist and mainstay of the revered Mego label, Pita; from Ohio, one-man drone-rock orchestra Burning Star Core; Load Records' feedback abuser Prurient; London-based experimental veteran Z'ev; and Newcastle's own drone-rock monolith Jazzfinger. It'll be a day to rememeber, both for us on stage and the audience :-)
So, is this pure free-form noise, or a pre-rehearsed work?
It is free-form noise, pre-planned - but not rehearsed.
Can we expect this stuff to be released in any form?
Yes you can. In which form is to early to say, but I will definitly put some of it for free download on my blog. How much depends on the recording itself and of course what Russell and Lasse wants to do with it. It will be announced here on my blog. I will however try to put out recordings old and new - for people who's interested in rare stuff. Just need to sort things a bit first.
Will be interesting to hear, either way. Have you been playing in other constellations as well, in the last years? Any bands or special projects?
Hi again 'Witt, I'm afraid that my activities has been on other things than music for the most of the 90'ies. Two reasons for that; thousand other things to keep me busy, and second there wasn't really anything that inspired me to really go into a new project. But I found noise, or to be more accurate - noise found me. Since then I've been inspired to re-enter the visable scene again. i've played woth Russell and Lasse, and had a performance together with the group Femail. At the moment I'm planning a series of concept conserts with an avant garde artist and Lasse. When or how this will materialize is to early to say, but hopefully within this year. And it would be fun to go back to a studio and record something again, but at the moment there's noe actual plan to do so.
