There's doom metal, and there's Sunn O)))
But if I'm correctly informed all of us that coldn't be present at the concert, will be able to get a glimpse at the experience next year. The album will be called "Domkirken" and is to be released on the Southern Lord label in january. Have your credit cards ready, this is something to look forward to!
Here's more about it (in norwegian)
Sunn O))) is definitely a fantastic band. I also really enjoy the band Earth, the band that inspired Sunn O))). It's not very evil, especially compared to Sunn O))) but its very relaxing.
Hi Alex, The universe of doom and ambient musics is large. There's so much out there, and a lot of it is good :-)
Hi, I was lucky enough to get to the gig at Domkirken, it was a great performance.
The unique thing about this event was that it was so loud and yet afterwards my ears were not sore at all (no ringing sensation!).
I look forward to getting a copy of the concert on vinyl when it is released in January via Southern Lord.

Greetings from the US. Definitely looking forward to hearing this release. If you haven't seen them live yet, definitely see them when you can. The albums are great but actually being there is an entirely different experience. It's like peering into the abyss and being pulled in.
I really like doom metal especially funeral, black and drone doom and Sunn O))) is definitely in my collection. i have a question for you if you don't mind:
what are your favourite doom metal bands?
Thanks! And happy birthday btw :)
Mia: My favorite doom band still is Sunn O)))
I read somewhere that people have actually had problems with their internal organs from being too close to the stage at those shows. Something about the vibrations shuffles them or something like that. I thought it was rediculous, but can you shed any light on that? They look like they put on an amazing performance based on what I've seen on Youtube.
Mooney: hehe, I've been at their shows and can't say I've got health problems from it. Personally I believe that this is a myth. Hearing problems if you don't use plugs, yes. But your liver probably only get dammaged from all the beer you consume while going to concerts :-)
